Job summary

Hyra in Bristol is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop embedded firmware in C for bare-metal applications. This role is on-site three days per week with some flexibility.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, lead testing and debugging, and contribute to software architecture decisions while leveraging Git and Jira for version control and task tracking. Visa not provided; only permanent UK rights.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in C for bare-metal embedded systems.
• Familiar with SPI, RS485 and CAN communication.
• Proficient with ARM Cortex-M architectures and embedded firmware development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware in C for bare-metal systems.
• Own embedded software activities across the product lifecycle.
• Develop and integrate firmware for bare-metal applications.
• Lead testing, debugging, and integration of embedded solutions.
• Collaborate with seniors and wider teams on robust product development.
• Follow structured processes and participate in code reviews.
• Use Git for version control and Jira for task tracking.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and mentoring.
