Job summary
Vector Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing tech firm in Cambridge, working on next-generation IoT wearable devices. This hybrid role offers one day in the office per week and exposure to low-power Bluetooth-enabled systems.
You will contribute across the full product lifecycle from prototyping to mass production, design embedded firmware in C, develop device drivers and wireless stacks, and collaborate with hardware
Qualifications
- Must have embedded C development experience in commercial projects.
- Experience with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX or similar).
- Proficient in Unix/Linux development environments.
- Strong grounding in software testing (unit, regression, system).
Responsibilities
- Design embedded firmware for IoT wearable products.
- Work across full product lifecycle: prototyping, implementation, optimisation, validation, release.
- Create efficient, reliable firmware for battery-powered devices.
- Develop and maintain low-level drivers, interfaces and wireless stacks.
- Collaborate with hardware, electronics and software teams to deliver production-ready systems.
