Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Estimator to support UK projects ranging from 200k to 30m. The role offers remote or hybrid working, with collaboration across Sales and Operations to deliver compliant, cost-effective fire protection solutions.

You will prepare outlines with AutoCAD, perform hydraulic calculations with FireCad, and produce detailed tenders and cost estimates while applying industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire sprinkler / fire suppression design estimating.
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge.
• Understanding of LPCB, NFPA, FM and BSEN12845 standards.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop compliant, cost-effective fire suppression solutions.
• Produce outline system designs using AutoCAD.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using FireCad (training provided).
• Prepare detailed tenders, quotations, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Review customer requirements, drawings and technical documentation.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during the bid process.
• Apply LPCB, NFPA, FM and BSEN12845 standards.
• Support the Sales team in securing new business opportunities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and estimating best practices.
• Provide support to the Lead Estimator and act as deputy when required.

What You Will Do

We are seeking an experienced Fire Suppression Estimator to support projects across the UK, ranging from 200k to 30m value. Working remotely or in a hybrid capacity, you will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and customers to develop compliant, cost-effective fire protection solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile data centre, industrial, and commercial projects while supporting business growth and project success.

How You Will Do It

Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to develop compliant and commercially competitive fire suppression solutions. Produce outline system designs using AutoCAD. Complete hydraulic calculations using FireCad (training provided where required). Prepare detailed tenders, quotations, specifications, and cost estimates. Review customer requirements, drawings, and technical documentation. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process. Apply relevant industry standards including LPCB, NFPA, FM, and BSEN12845. Support the Sales team in securing new business opportunities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and estimating best practices. Provide support to the Lead Estimator and act as deputy when required.

What We Are Looking For

• Required experience within fire sprinkler, fire suppression, design estimating environments
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge and experience
• Understanding of fire protection industry standards such as LPCB, NFPA, FM, and/or BSEN12845
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team

Beneficial Experience

• Using FireCad or similar hydraulic calculation software
• Previous experience estimating large-scale data centre, industrial, or commercial projects
• Knowledge of fixed fire suppression systems and associated technologies
• Experience supporting projects valued from 200k to 30m
