This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on role in ensuring essential fire safety works are completed, working directly alongside specialist contractors to coordinate appointments, engage with residents and help overcome the challenges that can delay important safety improvements.

We're looking for proactive, organised individuals with experience in social housing, fire safety, property compliance or repairs and maintenance, who enjoy working in a busy environment and taking ownership of getting things done.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with specialist fire safety contractors, you'll help keep essential works moving, ensuring residents are contacted, appointments are arranged and outstanding actions are followed through.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively contacting residents to arrange access for essential fire safety inspections and remedial works.
  • Working directly alongside contractors to coordinate appointments, schedules and outstanding jobs.
  • Following up on missed appointments and access difficulties, finding practical solutions to keep works progressing.
  • Liaising with residents, contractors and internal teams to ensure clear communication and timely updates.
  • Creating and updating works orders, maintaining accurate records and monitoring outstanding actions.
  • Identifying potential delays and escalating issues to ensure important compliance deadlines are met.
  • Supporting the wider Fire Safety team in delivering a high-priority programme of improvements to residents homes.
What are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within social housing, fire safety, property compliance or repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, arranging appointments or scheduling maintenance works.
  • Strong telephone communication skills and confidence engaging with residents, including those who may be difficult to contact.
  • A proactive, persistent approach to problem-solving and following up outstanding tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using housing management, repairs or compliance systems.
  • A positive, resilient attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a busy operational environment.

Experience within housing repairs, contractor scheduling or compliance administration would be particularly valuable.

Above all, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates confidently and isn't afraid to pick up the phone to get things moving!

What's in it for you?
  • £28,500 annual salary.
  • 37-hour working week, with potential overtime opportunities.
  • Minimum 4-month temporary contract.
  • Opportunity to work directly alongside specialist fire safety contractors.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Valuable experience within a well-established social housing organisation.
  • The chance to contribute to an important programme that directly improves the safety of residents homes.
  • Potential longer-term opportunities as the organisation continues to develop.
