Job summary

Niyaa People is supporting a local authority in a 12-month Fire Safety Inspector role with the possibility of extension. Based within the social housing sector, the post focuses on maintaining fire compliance and protecting residents across a housing portfolio.

As the Fire Safety Inspector, you will carry out inspections across properties, complete fire door inspections, inspect cavity barriers, façade, alarms and dampers, and review passive fire protection measures for compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous social housing or residential property experience.
• Conducting inspections.
• Strong understanding of fire safety compliance and resident safety.
• Ability to produce technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections across social housing properties.
• Completing fire door inspections and identifying defects.
• Inspecting cavity barriers, façade, alarms and dampers.
• Inspecting passive fire protection measures and identifying compliance issues.
• Liaising with external contractors and fire safety specialists to coordinate response works.
• Working closely with housing, property and compliance teams to maintain resident safety.
• Collecting data and processing careful weekly reports.
