Job summary

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Fire ICT Engineer to join the Fire ICT Team. The role involves maintaining critical ICT systems including radio communications, telephony and emergency alerting platforms, and providing technical support across IT infrastructure and data centre technologies.

You will participate in ICT projects, potentially join the on‑call rota, and contribute to security measures to protect data integrity, while working onsite at Ipswich East Fire Station, Suffolk.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining specialised systems such as radio communications, telephony, and emergency alerting platforms.
• Providing technical support for IT infrastructure, networking, systems and data centre technologies.
• Participating in ICT projects and, after training, joining the on-call rota to support critical systems out of hours.
• Implementing security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality, ensuring ICT policy compliance.
• Responding to ITSM tickets daily, resolving issues and escalating with full details when needed.
