Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Fire & Security Technician to join our Essex region, delivering maintenance and compliance services across Fire Alarms, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA systems, and related equipment.

The role requires experience with fire systems, driving licence, and a proactive, customer-focused approach; the successful candidate will work within a national organisation with on-call duties and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent education.
• Electrical competency qualification desirable.
• Experience with Fire Alarm and CCTV systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused with a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs within KPIs.
• Conduct Fire Alarm PPM visits in line with BS5839.
• Ensure all Fire Alarm systems comply with BS 5839 and report defects.
• Respond to Helpdesk calls during working hours and on-call hours.
• Complete documentation and digital reports to company standards.
• Liaise with Duty Managers for updates and risks.
• Carry out surveys and technical reports as required by management.
• Maintain tools and equipment for readiness and compliance.
• Attend training and complete mandatory online modules.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
