Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is seeking a Fire Door Carpenter/Fire Protection Installer to join our planned works team. You will install fire doors and perform remedial works within social housing tenanted properties, helping maintain safety and quality standards.

The role requires NVQ qualifications and related certifications, a full UK driving licence, and DBS checks. We offer long-term work, a van, pension, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience installing fire doors in a social housing environment.
• NVQ2+ in Joinery/Carpentry/Passive Fire Protection is essential.
• Certificates such as ASFP/FIRAS/BM TRADA/IFE/PASMA/IPAF are advantageous.

Job description

Location: Site based across the Birmingham area, therefore daily travel will be required.

Standard Hours Monday- Friday 39 hours

This is an exciting opportunity for a Fire Door Carpenter/ Fire Protection Installer to join Novus Property Solutions, planned works team providing high-quality Fire Door installation and remedial works within Social Housing tenanted properties

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

• Experience installing fire doors and carrying out associated remedial works within a social housing environment.
• Previous experience working in social housing and engaging directly with tenants would be advantageous.
• Ability to work from job tickets and handheld devices on a daily basis.
• Able to work effectively as part of a wider contract team whilst managing your own workload and priorities.
• Successful candidates may be required to complete a practical skills assessment, including the installation of a fire door.
• Committed to maintaining Novus' high standards of health, safety, and quality at all times.
• NVQ Level 2 or above in Joinery, Carpentry, or Passive Fire Protection is essential.
• Knowledge and qualifications in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry, Joinery, or Passive Fire Protection
    
  • ASFP Passive Fire Protection Training
  • FIRAS Installer Assessment or BM TRADA Fire Door Installer Certification
  • IFE Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection
  • PASMA and IPAF certifications
• Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, and Manual Handling training are required. Where certifications have expired, refresher training can be provided by Novus.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check
