Job summary

Aztec is seeking a Manager / Manager II (Band 3) to lead a team of accounting professionals, driving process improvements and contributing to broader business strategies.

You will oversee fund structures, review bookkeeping, support ISAE compliance, manage audit queries, and mentor staff while delivering high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading accounting teams and delivering process improvements.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, audits, and tax returns is desirable.
• Experience working with ISAE standards and client-facing accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead accountant for various fund structures within a team.
• Review bookkeeping for funds, management companies, and related structures.
• Review accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including equity equalisation and carry.
• Manage and review audit queries and provide timely responses.
• Serve as a higher authority on daily accounting queries and sign-off on accounting matters.
• Ensure ISAE compliance and prompt recording of risk events.
• Oversee preparation and reconciliation of direct and indirect tax returns with foreign advisors as needed.
• Supervise training, development and appraisal processes for staff.
• Assist with fund administration processes as required.

About the role:

As a Manager / Manager II (Band 3), you will be responsible for the leadership of a team or project, driving process improvement, operational excellence and contributing towards broader team strategies. This will be achieved through leading, motivating and coaching a team that is focused on outcomes, being open-minded and embracing change whilst valuing diverse perspectives and channelling a 'can-do' attitude. You will support business and people growth through connecting and collaborating across the business to enable Aztec's future ambitions.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Act as the lead accountant for various fund structures within a team
• Review the bookkeeping for a range of funds, management companies and associated fund structures
• Review all aspects of accounting matters for a limited portfolio of fund structures including acting as a first reviewer on equalisations and carry calculations
• Manage and review the completion of audit queries
• Act as a higher authority on day-to-day accounting queries and act as 4-eyes signatory on accounting matters, ensuring that company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality of service is provided to clients and external contacts
• Ensure ISAE compliance is adhered to, making sure all risk events are recorded and acted upon promptly
• Review the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns, and liaise with foreign tax advisors, to the extent relevant
• Supervise and assist in the training, development and the appraisal process for members of staff.
• Support with and/or complete fund administration processes as required.
