Job Description

Symbiotic Talent is currently partnering with a fantastic not-for-profit organisation for a permanent Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting Manager. They operate an agile working culture with 1-2 days a week in their Edinburgh office. This organisation is extremely people-oriented, and the leadership is talented and supportive.

The Role

Central to this role is monitoring the overall performance of the organisation, ensuring that spend aligns with the annual plan and deliverables. You will be responsible for planning, budget setting, and long-term strategic planning, especially around workforce management.

  1. Planning, setting, and monitoring the budget, including reviews and reforecasts.
  2. Developing and monitoring the capital budget within a regulated environment.
  3. Creating and reviewing financial strategies and scenario planning, incorporating workforce planning into long-term strategies.
  4. Serving as the systems owner for ERP systems, including upgrades and maintenance.
  5. Reviewing and reporting on budget performance and variances, and recommending corrective actions.
  6. Leading projects that require FP&A involvement.
  7. Managing a team of three.

The Person

  • An experienced, qualified accountant (essential), with experience managing teams and developing ERP systems.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders.
  • A strong track record in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Approachable, analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses emotional intelligence.
