Job summary

SSE is seeking a Finance Controls professional to join the Financial Controls Centre of Excellence on a fixed-term contract/secondment for up to 18 months. You will report to the Head of Financial Controls and drive robust financial control frameworks amid a period of change.

The role focuses on assurance, reporting, and insights across Finance, collaborating with Controllers, Process Leads and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Experience with internal controls and risk management.
• Ability to build relationships with Controllers, Process Leads and finance leaders.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to first-line teams on robust financial controls.
• Lead assurance cycles and provide insightful reporting to stakeholders.
• Build relationships across Finance and with external auditors.
• Champion training and upskilling to maintain control excellence.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to integrate controls into operations.
