Job summary

SSE is offering a fixed-term/secondment role in the Financial Controls Centre of Excellence for up to 18 months. You will report to the Head of Financial Controls and help ensure best-in-class financial control as Finance undergoes a process-aligned transformation.

You will build relationships with Controllers, Process Leads and FDs, lead assurance cycles, and drive insightful reporting while advancing the finance blueprint and corporate risk management.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification with 3+ years PQE in a large organisation or practice.
• Strong understanding of finance processes, risk assessment and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to first-line teams, maintaining robust financial controls and providing reporting to stakeholders.
• Build relationships across the business and with external auditors.
• Champion training and upskilling to sustain a culture of control excellence.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to enhance processes and integrate controls into operations.
• Evolve the financial control framework to keep pace with business change.
