Job summary

SSE plc is offering a 18-month fixed-term/secondment role within its Financial Controls Centre of Excellence. You will report to the Head of Financial Controls and drive assurance, reporting, and insight on the effectiveness of the framework as SSE embarks on a process-aligned transformation.

You will build relationships across Finance, including Controllers and Process Leads, while championing training to raise control maturity and collaborating with IT to enhance processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years PQE in a large organisation or practice.
• Strong understanding of finance processes, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to first-line teams, maintaining robust financial controls and delivering insightful reporting.
• Build relationships with Finance Directors, Controllers, Process Leads and external auditors.
• Champion training and upskilling to sustain a culture of control excellence.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to enhance processes and integrate controls into operations.
• Evolve the financial control framework to keep pace with business changes.
