Our client is a vertically integrated real assets business focused on acquiring, developing, and managing assets across the UK and Europe, with a vision to deploy significant capital for growth.

The newly created Finance Controller role will initially oversee financial management of the UK portfolio and related SPVs, review outsourcing providers, and optimize accounting processes. The role will also serve as a strategic partner to the COO/CFO and leadership team, based in London W1 from post-summer.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth financial reporting, loan structuring, and coordination with outsourced providers.
• Support analysis and insights on financial condition of assets.
• Accounting / Audit: Maintain accurate accounting records per standards (e.g., UK GAAP), manage outsourced providers, and oversee audits.
• Manage collections, payments, and financial compliance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare statutory, Board, investor, and business reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• FP&A: Collaborate with Asset Management on financial plans, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Treasury: Oversee banking, cash flow, loan management, and covenant compliance.
• Valuation: Manage financial aspects of asset valuation processes.
• Tax & Compliance: Optimize tax structures, ensure timely filings, and liaise with external advisors.
• Transaction Support: Provide financial and tax support for transactions, mitigate risks.
• Finance Technology: Lead enhancements in financial systems and automation.

Candidate Requirements:

• Relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) with 4+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in real estate or private equity real estate sectors.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, consolidations.
• Experience managing third-party providers and SLAs.
• Familiarity with cross-border funds and European jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics).
• Strong communication skills and experience managing outsourced teams.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-performing environments and handle PE investor relations.
