Job summary

Wade Macdonald is seeking a Financial Controller for an Oxfordshire-based, 9-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working (2–3 days in the office). You will lead a team of Management Accountants, oversee the monthly close, controls and board-level reporting, and ensure accurate financial information.

The ideal candidate is ACA/ACCA qualified with strong FRS 102 and IFRS knowledge, plus proven statutory reporting and audit experience to drive process improvements and robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with strong IFRS/FRS 102 knowledge.
• Experience leading finance teams and implementing controls.
• Proven experience in statutory reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly close with timely reporting.
• Review complex accounting adjustments per standards.
• Provide management information for board-level reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain robust financial controls and documentation.
• Manage cash flow projections and working capital.
• Coordinate external audits and statutory accounts.
• Engage tax specialists for timely submissions.
• Lead and develop a team of Management Accountants.
• Ensure reporting complies with accounting standards and internal policies.
