Job summary

ICAEW is seeking a Financial Controller to partner with the FD through its growth phase. The role goes beyond BAU accounting, driving automation, upgrading systems, and delivering robust month-end controls with improved MI.

You will be hands-on yet strategic, shaping finance processes, engaging with stakeholders across the business, and delivering impactful change in a high-profile SME environment.

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing SME services business as Financial Controller, working closely with the FD through the next stage of growth.
This is far more than a BAU accounting role. You'll play a key role in upgrading systems, improving processes, driving automation and developing better MI, alongside delivering a robust month-end and controls environment.
We're looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong Financial Controller experience
• Has worked in an SME or fast-paced, growing business
• Has a strong track record of improving finance systems, processes and controls
• Is comfortable being hands-on, while also looking at the bigger picture
• Enjoys fixing problems, implementing change and making finance more efficient
• Can work closely with an FD and confidently engage with stakeholders across the business
