Job summary

Venture Recruitment Partners is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team of a contract-led services SME. This hands-on role covers financial control, reporting, compliance and forecasting across multiple locations within a growing group.

The successful candidate will partner with operational and senior management, drive reporting accuracy and support performance through robust financial management, with a visible impact on business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA credential required.
• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience in facilities management, construction, engineering or contract-led environments preferred.
• Multi-site experience advantageous.

A leading business operating within the contract led services sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. This is a broad and hands on finance role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, compliance and forecasting for a SME business which forms part of a wider group.

Working closely with operational and senior management teams in multi locations, the successful candidate will provide financial oversight, drive reporting accuracy, improve processes and support business performance through robust financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely management information.
• Maintain a strong financial control environment, including balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and governance.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital and financial risk management.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to support business performance and decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and reporting processes.
• Support audits, statutory compliance and group reporting requirements.

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience within facilities management, construction, engineering services or another project / contract-led environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience operating within a multi-site business would be advantageous.
• A strong track record of development with a professional yet resilient approach is essential.
