Job summary

Partner Financial are recruiting a Financial Controller for a growing technology / SaaS based SME in Manchester. The postholder will lead day-to-day financial management, reporting to the CEO, and work with an external investor to shape strategy.

You will produce monthly management accounts and board packs, drive budgeting and forecasting, oversee statutory reporting, and develop systems to improve financial operations ahead of an anticipated exit in around three years.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/CIMA/ACCA
• Some PQE gained in industry
• Experience in SME or high-growth tech/SaaS preferred
• Excellent communicator with board-level impact
• Strong multitasking and attention to detail
• Experience developing systems and processes to improve operations

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and board packs on a timely basis
• Drive budgeting & forecasting with revenue and cost analysis
• Contribute to strategic decisions around pricing and contracts
• Statutory reporting for all group companies including consolidated year-end accounts
• Oversee R&D tax credits, VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax reporting
• Develop IT systems to align CRM and finance platforms
• Support future capital raises or exit processes within ~3 years
• Manage and develop one staff member

Partner Financial are recruiting a Financial Controller for a growing technology / SaaS based SME. Backed by external investment and led by an experienced leadership team, the business is entering a crucial phase of planned expansion. The Financial Controller is the #1 finance role and the postholder will lead all day-to-day financial management, being key to the successful management of this growing business.

The Financial Controller will report to the CEO, liaise frequently with the main external investor and help shape the strategic direction of the business going forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce monthly management accounts and board packs on a timely basis.
• Drive budgeting & forecasting including regular analysis of revenue and cost numbers.
• Contribute to strategic decision making around pricing, contract negotiation etc.
• Statutory reporting for all group companies including consolidated year-end accounts.
• Work closely with the company accountants to ensure the correct treatment of R&D tax credits in addition to VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax reporting.
• Further develop IT systems to ensure the CRM and finance systems are aligned.
• Provide support to any future capital raises and / or an exit process within the next 3 years.
• Manage and develop one member of staff.

The Candidate:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with at least some PQE gained in industry.
• Experience of working in an SME or high growth technology / SaaS company preferred.
• An excellent communicator who can add value at board level / across the wider business.
• Strong ability to multitask and work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and detail.
• Experience of developing systems & processes that smooth / improve business operations.
• A desire to play an active part in a growing company who seek an exit within c.3 years.
