Job summary

MarcDaniels is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function, delivering reliable reporting, cash flow management and commercial support to senior leadership. The role offers autonomy within a growing SME and requires strong experience in management accounts, forecasting and financial controls.

Hybrid working is provided, with 3 days in the office. Salary ranges from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, with the opportunity to influence

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking and working capital.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.
• Lead month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage supplier payments and monitor financial commitments.
• Prepare VAT returns and support year-end accounting requirements.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.

Financial Controller

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum

The Opportunity

A growing SME is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and provide reliable financial reporting, cash flow management and commercial support to senior leadership. This is a varied role offering responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to influence decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking and working capital.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.
• Lead month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Manage supplier payments and monitor financial commitments.
• Prepare VAT returns and support year-end accounting requirements.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.

About You

You will have previous experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or similar finance role within an SME environment.

Accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) are welcome, although qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.
