Qualifications

Broster Buchanan are partnering with a successful and growing business based in North Manchester to recruit a commercially focused Financial Controller. Offering a salary of around £65,000 plus a fantastic benefits package, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of a finance role, with direct exposure to and reporting into the board.

The Role

This is a broad, hands-on Financial Controller position with responsibility across the full finance function. You’ll play a key role in driving financial performance, delivering meaningful management information and providing the commercial insight needed to support strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of the full finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
• Leading monthly management accounts preparation and delivering insightful management reporting.
• Reviewing and challenging P&L performance, investigating variances and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
• Reporting directly to the board, presenting financial results, KPIs and commercial recommendations.
• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Providing financial analysis and insight to support business planning and strategic growth.
• Driving improvements across financial processes, controls and reporting systems.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to support business performance and accountability.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory reporting requirements.

About You

We’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the confidence to operate at board level.

• Fully qualified background CIMA ACA ACCA
• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.
• Strong management accounting, financial reporting and P&L analysis experience.
• The ability to interpret financial data and translate it into meaningful commercial insight.
• Confidence presenting financial performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to improving processes, controls and profitability.
• Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, collaborative approach.
