SF Partners are delighted to be working with a superb business in the recruitment of a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys combining hands-on financial management with team leadership and commercial involvement.

Hybrid working 1-2 days in the office, salary £70,000-£75,000, and private healthcare are on offer. You will take responsibility for day-to-day finance, develop the team and drive improvements across reporting, systems

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification required.
• Experience as Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge incl. financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in leading and developing a finance team.
• Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Lead, manage and develop a small finance team.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning with business insight.
• Review performance with senior stakeholders and highlight opportunities and risks.
• Improve financial processes, systems and internal controls for efficiency.
• Provide financial guidance to operational teams to aid decision-making.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial information, developing the team and driving improvements across reporting, systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead, manage and develop a small finance team
• Take responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, providing insight to support business decisions.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to review financial performance, identify risks and highlight opportunities.
• Review and improve financial processes, systems and internal controls to drive greater efficiency.
• Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators, providing meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Support the wider financial strategy and contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives.
• Ensure financial policies, procedures and reporting requirements are maintained to a high standard.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions and professional advisers.
• Provide financial guidance to operational teams, supporting commercial decision-making across the business.

About You

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded Financial Controller who is comfortable getting involved in the detail whilst maintaining a broader view of the business.

You will ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance position.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Previous experience managing and developing a finance team.
• The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive approach to improving systems, controls and financial processes.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
