Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a hospitality business on the outskirts of York, North Yorkshire.

Role Overview

You will report to the Group Finance Director and General Manager, overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic growth. The team includes an Accounts Office Manager and a Finance Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights supporting decision-making and profitability.
• Ensure accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
• Lead budget preparation, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
• Monitor hotel financial performance against targets and KPIs.
• Prepare reports and presentations on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Implement internal controls and financial policies.
• Manage payroll for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax obligations.
• Lead and develop the accounting team.
• Drive cost control initiatives to enhance profitability.

Candidate Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Sage software.
• Ability to motivate and lead teams.
