Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Hybrid (Remote & Office-based)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Company Overview:

Original Duckhead is a fast-growing international brand specializing in sustainable, high-quality umbrellas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain daily bank and account reconciliations across multiple entities

• Produce accurate monthly profit and loss reports and financial summaries

• Manage and execute supplier and operational payments

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations

• Conduct cost analysis and implement financial controls to support strategic decision-making

• Liaise with external accountants as required and support year-end processes

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

Requirements:

• Proven experience in financial management, preferably within property or multi-entity businesses

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and UK tax regulations

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)

• Highly analytical with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• Ability to work independently with strong time management

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred but not essential
