Based in the heart of Wigan, this dynamic SME is the perfect place for a 1st time mover to learn, develop & establish themselves as a well-rounded Financial Controller, offering a clear route to FD in the future.

Currently generating a turnover of approximately £5 million, the organisation are entering an exciting phase of high growth, set to scale through strategic acquisitions that will expand their market reach and service capabilities.

Keen to set you up for success, senior leadership within this business are honest, open and fair and willing to invest as much time and resource required to ensure you feel supported in the role.

Description

As Financial Controller, you will be heavily involved in the production of management accounts, delivery of a timely audit & the prep of statutory accounts in compliance with FRS102.

You will get involved in forecasting/budgeting and have exposure to a wide array of finance related projects across the business such as the implementation of a new finance system.

As well as the above, learning from an experience FD, you will have huge involvement in the wider running of the business commercially, helping to improve performance and impacting the direction of the business.

Profile

• Qualified accountant (ideally ACA)
• Ideally someone from a top 10, national accountancy practice but candidates from regional firms will be considered
• If you are ACCA qualified, you will have ideally worked in a service led environment
• Preferably, experience working with or within an SME environment
• Accounts prep experience is a bonus but isn't essential
• Experience working to UK GAAP/ FRS 102
• Must live local and be willing to be present and in office daily
