An exciting, permanent position for a Financial Controller to join a well-established manufacturing business. Ideal for a second-time mover with manufacturing experience or a seasoned Finance Manager/Financial Controller from the manufacturing sector.

Michael Page is working with a global manufacturing business to hire a Financial Controller. This role is suitable if you are seeking your first controller position and have experience within the manufacturing industry.

Description

Your responsibilities as Financial Controller will include:

1. Monthly profit forecasting, month-end closing & reporting.
2. Ensuring timely and accurate accounts, reconciling the balance sheet to supporting details.
3. Managing one experienced finance assistant.
4. Preparing and presenting monthly management accounts to senior leadership.
5. Liaising with external auditors and managing year-end documentation and adjustments.
6. Controlling costs through managing budgets with departmental heads.
7. Reviewing and improving system processes for efficiency.
8. Budget planning considering demand fluctuations, including activity-based budgeting.
9. Analyzing stock control, identifying slow-moving stock, and improving stock controls.
10. Managing fixed assets and capitalization.
11. Recording R&D for tax relief purposes.

Profile

• Experience in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration in a global/European setting.
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel, with strong analytical skills.
