Job description

An exciting SME business in the media space are looking to hire a Financial Controller to support the CFO as they look to continue their impressive growth over the last 5 years. The business has a global reach and this Financial Controller hire is key to helping provide robust financial control and also provide commentary to aid business decisions.

The role will involve the following:

• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Develop and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial operations
• Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring cash balances, managing debt, and ensuring liquidity
• Ensure all financial activities comply with statutory laws and financial regulations
• Assist in the annual external audit process and prepare statutory financial statements
• Financial Strategy Support: Support the CFO and senior leadership in developing and implementing financial strategies
• Process Improvement: Streamline and improve accounting operations and financial systems
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company's financial health

To be considered you will have experience of the following criteria:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ACMA or equivalent)
• You must have experience of working in a B2B events company
• Have worked as Financial Controller in an SME environment (sub £50m turnover)
• Have experience of using Microsoft Dynamics (ideally Business Central)
• Experience of using AI to help automate financial processes
