Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a Finance Analyst in Stockton-on-Tees to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis. You will support month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, working closely with internal teams to provide accurate financial information.

The role requires a grounding in finance or accounting, with experience in month-end processes and strong Excel skills. You will contribute to improvements in financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

We're currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join a busy finance team in Stockton-on-Tees.

You'll play an important role in supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, working closely with internal teams to provide accurate and meaningful financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete month-end activities to support the production of monthly financial statements.


• Prepare financial analyses and reports for management, providing clear insight into financial performance.


• Support the preparation of annual budgets, expense forecasts and staffing forecasts for assigned areas of the business.


• Produce regular statistical and financial reporting.


• Analyse financial performance and provide explanations for variances against budget and forecast.


• Carry out cost analysis and identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring further investigation.


• Work closely with relevant departments to understand financial information and support effective decision-making.


• Ensure financial information and reporting is accurate, timely and presented to a high standard.


• Contribute to ongoing improvements within financial reporting and analysis.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong grounding in finance or accounting who is comfortable working with financial data, reporting and analysis. You'll ideally have:

• A degree, college qualification or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related subject.


• Intermediate-level professional experience within a relevant finance or accounting environment.


• Experience of month-end processes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.


• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.


• The ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.


• Good Excel and financial systems knowledge.


• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with wider teams.
