Job summary

Morgan Jones is recruiting a Financial Analyst on behalf of a respected client in Darlington. The role focuses on month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, with responsibilities across variance analysis, staff forecasting and management reporting.

The contract runs until January 2027 and offers exposure to a broad range of financial activities. The successful candidate will have a Finance/Accounting degree, intermediate finance experience, and strong analytical skills,

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Relevant professional finance experience at an intermediate level.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Progress towards a recognised accounting qualification (CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end financial activities to support monthly statements.
• Prepare detailed financial analyses and management reports.
• Support departmental management with financial reporting and decision-making.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and expense forecasts.
• Produce staffing forecasts and statistical reports.
• Analyse financial performance and identify key trends.
• Provide variance analysis and explanations.
• Conduct cost analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and compliant with internal requirements.

The Role

Morgan Jones is recruiting on behalf of a respected client seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their finance team on a contract basis until January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working with financial data, providing insightful analysis, and supporting key business decisions through accurate reporting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete month-end financial activities to support the production of monthly financial statements


• Prepare detailed financial analyses and management reports
