Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a Finance Analyst in Stockton-on-Tees to join a busy finance team. This temporary role supports month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, working with internal teams to deliver accurate financial information.

You will contribute to improved reporting, perform variance analysis, and assist with ad hoc analysis to inform management decisions. The successful candidate will have a finance or accounting background and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• We're looking for a finance or accounting professional with experience in reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail and clear communication.
• Experience interpreting financial information for stakeholders and presenting insights.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end activities to support monthly financial statements.
• Prepare analyses and reports for management with insights into performance.
• Support annual budgets, expense forecasts and staffing forecasts.
• Produce regular statistical and financial reporting.
• Analyze performance and explain variances against budget and forecast.
• Carry out cost analysis and identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with departments to understand financial information for decision-making.
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely and high quality.
• Contribute to improvements in financial reporting and analysis.
