Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a Finance Analyst in Stockton-on-Tees to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis. You will support month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, working closely with internal teams to provide accurate financial information.

The role requires a grounding in finance or accounting, with experience in month-end processes and strong Excel skills. You will contribute to improvements in financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related subject.
• Intermediate-level experience in a finance/accounting environment.
• Experience with month-end processes, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Good Excel and financial systems knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and with wider teams.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end activities to support monthly financial statements.
• Prepare financial analyses and reports for management with insights into performance.
• Assist in annual budgets, expense forecasts and staffing forecasts.
• Produce regular statistical and financial reporting.
• Analyze performance and explain variances against budget/forecast.
• Carry out cost analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with departments to support decision-making with financial data.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and improvements.
