Calibre Candidates Ltd. in Reading is seeking a meticulous Finance Officer to join the Reading-based finance team.

The role covers payroll support, accounts payable and management accounts, with a hands-on approach to routine tasks and evolving priorities. You’ll own a defined workload, ensure accurate coding and posting, reconcile supplier statements, and support month-end processes and payroll reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance experience including accounts payable and exposure to management accounts.
• Experience supporting or processing payroll with confidentiality.
• Strong reconciliation skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage recurring workload reliably and meet monthly deadlines.
• Good Excel skills and comfort using financial systems.
• Practical problem-solving and adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Finance Inbox: manage queries, code invoices, reconcile statements, and prepare payments.
• Management Accounts & Month-End: assist with monthly close, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Payroll: support monthly payroll, process changes, reconciliations and records, and confidentiality.
• Wider Finance Support: assist across the team with ad hoc tasks as priorities shift.
