Job summary

Ocho People in Belfast is seeking a Finance Manager to lead a small finance team, ensure high quality financial reporting and strong financial control. The role offers exposure to strategic decision making and process improvements as the business grows.

You will report to the Finance Director, drive performance across reporting, controls, and BI systems, and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting and tax compliance for the group.

Qualifications

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong IT and Excel skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transactional functions for the business and its associated companies.
  • Manage working capital and cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements per month-end process and reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain an effective credit control function.
  • Optimise accounting system efficiency and functionality.
  • Support reporting and insights from finance and BI systems.
  • Ensure timely tax returns and payments.
  • Prepare audit files and liaise with auditors.
  • Maintain a framework and culture of financial control.

About the Company

A growing, PE-backed manufacturing and production business operating across the UK and Ireland, recognised for strong performance and growth within its sector. The business is entering a new phase following recent private equity investment.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage a small Finance Team and be responsible for ensuring high quality financial reporting, maintaining effective financial control, and streamlining financial processes. The successful individual will assist the Finance Director in driving strategic decision making, optimising financial performance, and ensuring control across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the transactional functions for the business and its associated companies
  • Ensure efficient working capital and cash management
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with month-end process and reporting deadlines
  • Maintain an effective credit control function
  • Optimise the efficiency and functionality of a newly implemented accounting system
  • Support the development of reporting and insights from finance and BI systems
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax-related returns and payments
  • Prepare audit files for external auditors and liaise with auditors for the annual audit
  • Maintain a framework and culture of financial control
What You'll Need

Essential:
