Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations within a high-performance engineering manufacturing business in the UK. You will work closely with the CFO for mentorship and strategic guidance while ensuring robust financial controls and accurate management reporting.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA fully qualified.
• 2+ years PQE in manufacturing/engineering.
• Experience managing 1–2 direct reports.
• Strong Excel and Power Query abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with supporting analysis.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Contract Revenue Recognition and Inventory valuations with provision assumptions.
• Fixed Assets Register reconciliations; HMRC for VAT, PAYE & P11D; R&D Tax Credit computations.
• Timesheets reconciliations and Manufacturing Parts Costing.

Job description

The Finance Manager will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and overseeing daily transactional duties within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This role works closely with the CFO who will provide great mentorship and guidance to the successful candidate.

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Contract Revenue Recognition.
• Inventory valuations with provision assumptions.
• Fixed Assets Register reconciliations.
• HMRC for VAT, PAYE & P11D
• R&D Tax Credit computations
• Timesheets Reconciliations.
• Manufactured Parts Costing.
• Annual Budgeting & Quarterly Reforecasting.
• Rolling Cashflows reporting and reconciliations.
• Departmental and project reporting to include central overhead apportionment.
• Monthly reporting packs for Directors.
• Management and responsibility of the external annual Audit.

Profile

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA fully qualified
• Ideally 2 years + PQE within a manufacturing / engineering business
• Experience of managing small teams of 1 or 2 direct reports
• MS office, in particular Advanced Excel and Power Query abilities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
• Experience leading a month end and management accounting deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and diligence.
