Job summary

Chase and Holland partners with a growing SME in Rotherham to recruit a Finance Manager. You will own the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the Managing Director to help the business make informed decisions.

You will lead bookkeeping, monthly accounts, cash-flow forecasting and reporting, while supervising an accounts administrator and ensuring data accuracy across financial systems.

Qualifications

SME Environment, Hands-On Finance Role

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference? We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing SME client based in Rotherham, who are looking for a capable and commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of their day-to-day finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, likes variety, and wants to work closely with the Managing Director and wider business. You’ll play a key role in keeping the finances running smoothly, providing accurate financial information and helping the business make informed decisions.

What will you be doing?

You’ll take responsibility for a broad range of finance activities, including:

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and journals
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Producing detailed P&L analysis and highlighting key trends
• Preparing cash-flow forecasts
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting
• Providing financial information and reports to the wider Management Team
• Integrating and maintaining financial data across internal system
• Processing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
• Managing an accounts administrator
• Completing regular bank reconciliations
• Monitoring payments, receipts and bank deposits
• Managing credit control and debt collection

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is organised, analytical and commercially aware, with the confidence to take ownership of the finance function.

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar position
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and financial processes
• Strong Management and Financial Reporting experience
• IT literate including excel
• The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy SME environment
• A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to learn new systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
