Job summary

Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with a growing SME to appoint a Finance Manager who will own the finance function and partner with senior leadership to shape strategy and drive performance.

You’ll lead monthly management accounts, maintain strong controls and deliver actionable financial insight across the business, while building a high-performing finance team and developing systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience producing management accounts and leading month-end processes.
• Strong financial controls and balance sheet reconciliation skills.
• Experience overseeing cash flow, working capital and transactional finance.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end reporting and management accounts.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and become a trusted partner to senior leadership, helping shape strategy, improve performance and support continued expansion.

This is far more than a traditional reporting role. You’ll combine strong financial control with commercial insight, working closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful analysis, challenge decision-making and help drive business success.

The role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you’ll lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls and actionable financial insight across the business. You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance systems, streamline processes and develop a high-performing finance team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the monthly management accounts and month-end reporting process.
• Maintain strong financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Partner with operational stakeholders to provide commercial insight and support business decisions.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Manage, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Oversee VAT returns, ledgers, supplier payments and credit control activities.
• Support stock, margin and payroll controls.
• Drive improvements to financial processes, reporting and systems.

About you

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, QBE will also considered) who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a tangible impact. You’ll combine strong technical finance skills with commercial awareness, curiosity and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
