Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Finance Manager in Dukinfield (Greater Manchester). This is a hands-on role, reporting to the General Manager, with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and a small finance team.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualified or QBE, with SME experience, month-end, VAT/CIS and cashflow management skills. Office-based, full-time (5 days per week).

Responsabilidades

• Oversee month-end process and produce a fully reconciled trial balance
• Full balance sheet control incl. accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Maintain and reconcile nominal ledger and control accounts
• Prepare monthly VAT and CIS returns
• Manage sales invoicing and accounts receivable
• Support credit control to maximise cash collection
• Oversee customer accounts and credit approvals
• Process purchase invoices and maintain PO records
• Daily bank reconciliations and cash management
• Monitor expenditure and staff costs
• Review credit card reconciliations with GM
• Ensure robust financial controls across the business
• Provide financial information to operational managers
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a hands-on Finance Manager role within a growing SME environment? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established business based in Dukinfield that is seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and support the operational leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE) and enjoys working in a varied role with responsibility across all aspects of finance.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and managing a Finance Administrator/Credit Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's finance operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the month-end process and preparing a fully reconciled trial balance for the group finance function.
• Full balance sheet control, including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting.
• Maintaining and reconciling nominal ledger and control accounts.
• Producing and submitting monthly VAT and CIS returns.
• Managing sales invoicing and accounts receivable activities.
• Supporting and actively participating in credit control to maximise cash collection.
• Overseeing customer account creation and credit approval processes.
• Processing purchase invoices and maintaining purchase order records.
• Daily bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Monitoring company expenditure and staff expenses, including technician travel and accommodation costs.
• Reviewing and approving company credit card reconciliations alongside the General Manager.
• Ensuring robust financial controls are maintained and adhered to across the business.
• Supporting operational managers with financial information and insights.
• Assisting with ad hoc finance and business projects as required.About You

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who are:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Experienced in a finance management, senior accounts or bookkeeping role.
• Comfortable managing a broad finance remit within an SME environment.
• Experienced with month-end reporting, reconciliations, VAT and cashflow management.
• Confident working independently and taking ownership of financial processes.
• Strong users of Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experienced with accounting software such as Xero or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communicators who can build relationships across all levels of the business
