Base pay range
Next generation global Energy/Utilities organisation going through an exciting period of growth, require a Finance Manager (circa £85k+bonus & great benefits) to join their London based HQ. The role will drive monthly management reporting for UK and European entities, quarterly group reporting to parent company, and annual statutory reporting and external audit.
The Role
- Implementation and monitoring of new global governance framework established for reporting, including review of subsidiary management accounts and monitoring of sign-off of minimum control standards from each subsidiary.
- Preparation of monthly accounting for trading P&L, primarily financial instruments, partnering with the Technical Accounting team to ensure accurate reporting of new contract types.
- Monthly reporting of EU subsidiaries (future plan for establishment).
- Driving P&L and Balance Sheet reporting for month-end close (WD1-WD6), including management commentary for senior management.
- Coordinate quarterly group reporting schedules for parent company.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts and coordination of external audit engagement (group and statutory), leading on audit of derivatives and disclosures.
- Responsible for coaching and development of two direct reports.
- Drive improvements to financial reporting processes and controls, partnering with internal audit to define and implement key control activities.
The Person
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with 3+ years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting/reporting role.
- Experience within the energy industry is preferred, but candidates from financial services backgrounds are also welcome.
- Experience managing an effective financial close process and preparing high-quality management reports.
- Experience delivering end-to-end audit cycle, managing audit deliverables, and preparing statutory accounts.
- People management experience, including coaching and developing junior staff.
