Job summary

Accountancy Action in Greater London is seeking a finance professional to lead month-end activities and develop commercial finance capabilities. You will manage a portfolio of e-commerce and consumer clients, ensuring accurate reporting and timely VAT compliance, while driving value through AI-enabled efficiency.

The role offers progression into strategic finance and leadership, with exposure to diverse client challenges and a fast-growing business environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close across a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
• Produce variance analysis and KPI reporting.
• Prepare and review VAT returns.
• Ensure statutory deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
• Build relationships with clients and act as their day-to-day finance contact.
• Review reconciliations, journals and financial reporting by the team.
• Improve internal systems and processes using AI tools and automation.
• Prepare client meeting packs and support strategic finance discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close across a portfolio of clients
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts

• Build strong relationships with clients and become their day-to-day finance contact

• Prepare client meeting packs and support strategic finance discussions

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and adding commercial value.

You'll ideally have:

• ACA or ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Experience preparing management accounts and running month-end
• Hands-on experience with VAT returns and year-end accounts
• An interest in AI and technology, with a willingness to learn new ways of working
