Job summary

Headstar is seeking an ACA/ACCA/CIMA-qualified Finance Manager to own the day-to-day finance function in Harrogate, joining a growing business with strong senior leadership collaboration. You''ll drive improved reporting, controls, forecasting and processes while supporting a digital transformation programme.

The role offers a hands-on, commercially minded finance leader who mentors two trainee accountants and shapes how the finance function operates across multiple entities in the Group.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA credentials.
• Strong practical accounting experience with solid fundamentals.
• Proven experience in management accounts, reconciliations and reporting.
• Comfortable with budgeting and forecasting, or eager to build it.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
• Produce and develop monthly management accounts and MI.
• Oversee ledgers, cash, reconciliations, controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Introduce and maintain budgeting and forecasting.
• Provide financial insight to the MD and wider management team.
• Support the wider Group across multiple entities and developing businesses.
• Improve financial processes, controls and automation.
• Work alongside Operations and Compliance to strengthen financial processes.
• Support year-end accounts, audit, VAT and regulatory reporting.
• Mentor and develop two trainee accountants.

You'll have plenty of opportunity to put your own stamp on the finance function and help shape how it operates going forward.

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified ideally, although QBE candidates will be considered.
• Strong practical accounting experience and excellent technical fundamentals.
• Proven management accounts, reconciliations, controls and reporting experience.
• Comfortable with budgeting and forecasting - or keen to build this capability.
• Excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in solving problems.
• Comfortable working across both the detail and the bigger commercial picture.

• £50,000 - £60,000 basic salary
