Job summary

Global Accounting Network is recruiting an experienced Finance Manager in West London to own the Group month-end close, consolidation, Treasury and reporting. You will direct a small team of accountants, review work for accuracy, and drive improvements in the close process to meet tight reporting deadlines.

The role requires ACA qualification, post-qualification experience in a group setting (PE-backed or fast-paced), and a proven track record in process enhancement and ERP usage.

Qualifications

• ACA qualification or equivalent through an audit scheme.
• Post-Qualified experience in an in-house finance team within a group structure, ideally PE-backed or fast-paced.
• Experience of improving processes and using ERP systems.
• Confident, driven with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Group month-end timetable and close process.
• Lead and review the month-end accounts, not prepare them personally.
• Manage the group consolidation, Treasury oversight, and audit liaison.
• Develop and coach the accounting team to improve capability and ownership.
• Provide clear visibility of month-end progress, risks and issues to senior finance leadership.

Job description

We are working with a highly acquisitive, PE-backed group in West London that is continuing to scale through an active acquisition strategy. As the business grows, it is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the Group month-end process, Group Consolidation, Treasury and Group Reporting managing two direct reports.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment and is as comfortable improving processes as they are managing people and delivering against demanding reporting deadlines.

The Role

You will sit at Group level and be responsible for coordinating the month-end close across the business, ensuring that the team delivers accurate and timely information within critical reporting deadlines.

You will lead and review rather than prepare the month-end accounts yourself. The role will involve providing direction to a small team of accountants, reviewing and approving their work, resolving issues and continually improving the efficiency and robustness of the close process.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating the Group month-end timetable and close process.
• Managing the audit, acting as the main point of contact with the external auditors
• Managing the group consolidation accountant, reviewing and approving the monthly consolidation
• Managing the Group Accountant who also manages the Treasury - overseeing and managing
• Reviewing and approving the team's work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensuring critical reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements to the month-end process.
• Driving greater standardisation, efficiency and control across Group accounting.
• Supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses into the Group reporting framework.
• Working closely with operational and finance stakeholders across the wider Group.
• Providing clear visibility of month-end progress, risks and outstanding issues to senior finance leadership.
• Developing and coaching the team to improve capability and ownership.

The Person:

• ACA Qualified, or equivalent, through an audit scheme
• Post Qualified experience from within an inhouse finance team in a group structure, ideally PE-backed or fast paced culture
• Experience of improving process and using ERP systems
• Confident, driven with excellent communication skills
