As the finance function evolves alongside the wider business, there is now an opportunity for a Finance Manager to take ownership of key operational finance activities and help establish robust, scalable processes for continued growth.
The Finance Manager will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, supporting the month-end close, treasury, payroll, VAT and financial controls across a growing international group. The role will combine hands-on financial accounting with process improvement, systems development and stakeholder management, while helping to build a strong control environment capable of supporting the company's continued expansion.
Responsibilities
- Managing key elements of the month-end close process, including preparing journals, accruals and prepayments, while completing detailed balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Producing ad-hoc financial analysis, reconciliations and management information to support senior finance stakeholders and the wider FP&A function.
- Supporting the Accounts Payable function with day-to-day queries, escalations and operational requirements, ensuring supplier transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Mentoring and developing the Accounts Payable Lead, providing technical guidance, allocating responsibilities and supporting the continued development of the wider finance team.
- Reviewing and authorising supplier payment runs within agreed delegated authority, ensuring payments are processed in line with treasury and financial control policies.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and other relevant statutory finance submissions, ensuring information is complete, accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Monitoring cash balances and treasury activity across the group, preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring sufficient liquidity is available to meet operational requirements.
- Overseeing payroll from a finance perspective, reviewing submissions from external payroll providers and preparing the associated accounting entries across UK and international entities.
- Supporting the establishment of finance operations for new countries and legal entities, helping to implement scalable processes, local compliance requirements and payroll arrangements.
- Driving continuous improvements across finance processes, systems and controls, introducing clearer procedures, operating guides and scalable ways of working as the business grows.
Candidate
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
- Proven experience owning or playing a significant role in month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience across operational finance areas including VAT, payroll, treasury, expenses and financial controls.
- Demonstrated experience improving finance processes, strengthening controls and introducing more efficient ways of working.
- Experience operating within a fast-paced, international, multi-entity or high-growth environment.
