Mitchell Adam are delighted to be working with a rapidly growing Birmingham-based SME operating within the technology sector. Following the growth of the Group, they are looking for a newly qualified Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and become a key part of the next stage of the business. With just two days a week in the office, this is a role that offers genuine flexibility without sacrificing visibility across the business.
This is a particularly good move for a newly qualified accountant coming from practice who is ready to see the wider commercial impact of their work. You'll work closely with the Finance Director while having exposure to the Managing Director, wider leadership team and commercial areas of the business, giving you the opportunity to understand how financial performance, sales, revenue and profitability feed into business decisions. Alongside producing the management accounts, you'll be involved in forecasting, commercial reporting, cashflow and board-level financial information.
There is also plenty of scope to make the role your own. You'll initially operate as the key finance contact across the Group, with the opportunity to improve controls, streamline processes, introduce greater automation and play a part in the development of the finance function as the business grows. With exposure to licensing and deferred revenue, VAT, commercial analysis and the integration of a growing Group, this is a role where a newly qualified accountant can build a genuinely broad skill set rather than becoming pigeonholed into one area of finance.
For a newly qualified accountant looking to make the move from practice, this is a chance to step into a Finance Manager position with considerably more breadth and visibility than you would typically find at this level. You'll have the support of an experienced Finance Director, but also the freedom to take ownership, influence how finance operates and develop a strong understanding of the commercial side of a growing business. With further expansion expected, the role has genuine scope to develop alongside the Group.
