Job summary

Halfords is recruiting a Finance Data Analyst in Redditch to turn complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights. You’ll work within the finance team on reporting and analytics, collaborating with IT and business areas to deliver high-quality outputs.

Day-to-day responsibilities include producing and automating reports, validating data from multiple sources, and building BI solutions in Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Excel formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and large datasets.
• Proven data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence experience.
• Experience using Power BI or similar tools.
• Curious and analytical with ability to investigate data issues and root causes.
• Confident communicator with stakeholders and presenting findings.
• Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently in a team.
• Interest in automation, AI and continuous improvement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce, maintain and enhance financial and operational reports from various sources.
• Investigate data anomalies, validate outputs, and identify drivers behind trends.
• Gather reporting requirements and develop new reporting solutions with stakeholders.
• Build reporting prototypes and analytical models in Excel to support scalable processes.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards delivering clear, accurate insights.
• Support automation of manual reporting activities to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Present findings in a clear, engaging way to help inform business decisions.
