Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Finance Data Analyst in Redditch to transform complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights. You will produce, improve, and automate reports, validating data across multiple sources and partnering with Finance and IT to deliver robust reporting solutions.

You will build Power BI dashboards and Excel models, identify data anomalies, and help shape a best-in-class reporting environment with potential automation and AI opportunities.

Qualifications

• Solid, demonstrable experience with Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and working with large and complex datasets.
• Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, with knowledge of producing and maintaining reports.
• Experience using Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools.
• Naturally curious and analytical, with the ability to investigate issues and identify the root cause of data anomalies.
• Confident communicator who is comfortable engaging with stakeholders and discussing findings and recommendations.
• Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• An interest in automation, AI, and continuous improvement would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce, maintain, and enhance financial and operational reports using data from a variety of sources
• Investigate data anomalies, validate outputs, and identify the drivers behind trends and performance changes
• Work with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to gather reporting requirements and develop new reporting solutions
• Build reporting prototypes and analytical models in Excel, supporting the development of scalable reporting processes
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide clear, accurate, and actionable insight
• Support the automation of manual reporting activities, improving efficiency and reducing risk
• Present findings and insights in a clear and engaging way, helping stakeholders make informed business decisions
