Job summary

Trostan Dene is seeking a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join their finance team in Horwich. You will deliver accurate reporting and insightful commercial analysis across the site network, partnering with colleagues to drive growth and profitability.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own key commercial analyses including sales, pricing, site performance and budgeting, while supporting month-end activities and BI dashboard development.

Qualifications

• Finalist or newly qualified accountant with strong management accounting experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced SME or multi-site business.
• Experience supporting month-end reporting (journals, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis).
• Ability to translate financial data into clear commercial insight.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with non-finance stakeholders.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce weekly and monthly sales and attrition reporting, identifying trends by site, region and customer cohort.
• Develop and maintain commercial reporting and BI dashboards covering sales, attrition and site performance.
• Support pricing decisions and increases through revenue, customer behaviour and churn sensitivity modelling.
• Monitor site performance against budgets, including revenue, EBITDA and ROCE.
• Prepare commercial analysis and financial models for business cases, new products, partnerships and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with Regional Managers and stakeholders to understand performance drivers and identify opportunities to improve revenue, retention and profitability.
• Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting alongside the Head of Finance.
• Support month-end activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reviews and variance analysis.
• Assist with MI packs, Board reporting, year-end accounts, audit and tax.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation across financial reporting, controls, systems and processes, alongside ad-hoc commercial analysis.

Commercial Finance Business Partner | Horwich | £50k | Permanent

The Role

Trostan Dene is supporting a growing business in Horwich with finding a Commercial Finance Business Partner to support the finance team in delivering accurate reporting and valuable commercial insights across their network of locations.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role across commercial finance and financial reporting, providing insight to drive member growth, retention and profitability, while also supporting the Management Accountant with month-end. The role will own key commercial analysis, including sales and attrition reporting, pricing, site performance, dashboards and business cases, alongside supporting budgeting, forecasting and management accounts.

What We’re Looking For

• Finalist or newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), with strong management accounting experience
• Experience in management accounting, commercial finance, FP&A or a similar role, ideally within an SME or multi-site business
• Experience in a fast-paced business environment
• Experience supporting month-end reporting, including journals, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial and operational data into clear commercial insight
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships and business partner with non-finance stakeholders
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and accuracy, with strong Excel skills
