Job summary

The Growth Company seeks a Finance, Benefits and Debt (FBD) Caseworker to support people facing financial challenges and guide them toward stability. You will deliver one-to-one and group interventions for those in prison and on probation, helping with budgeting, debt issues, and accessing benefits.

Regular travel between Grimsby and Scunthorpe is required; a full UK driving licence and own car are essential.

Qualifications

Experience supporting vulnerable or marginalised groups such as ex-offenders or people in custody.
Ability to motivate, challenge and build trust across diverse backgrounds.
Resilience and calm under pressure in fast-paced, target-driven environments.
Willingness to travel and work across settings, including outside standard hours.

Responsibilities

Manage participant caseloads in community and prison settings to access benefits and meet claim responsibilities.
Resolve complex debt issues by identifying barriers and negotiating sustainable repayment and rent arrears plans.
Provide budgeting and financial guidance to improve personal finances and daily budgeting.
liaise with landlords, utilities, banks, credit unions and other agencies to maintain communication.
Build motivational relationships to support informed decision making and tailored action planning.
Deliver flexible, multichannel support (face-to-face, digital, video, telephone) to maximise engagement.
Monitor progress by tracking actions and keeping accurate, compliant records.
Collaborate with probation services and National Probation Service to contribute to targets and service improvements.
