Our client, a top ten accounting firm globally, is currently recruiting two Finance Assistants for their growing Belfast team. Main Tasks

  • Managing accounting records, including the cash book, purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations.
  • Arranging bank payments and transfers and banking client receipts.
  • Liaising with third parties such as insurance companies and banks on behalf of clients.
  • Producing accurate accounting records and other work sets with attention to detail and quality, managing oneself effectively.
  • Being organized and methodical to ensure all tasks are completed according to deadlines, with a focus on goals and results.
  • Understanding and adhering to client deadlines.

Criteria

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, or a graduate with a placement year, would be ideal.
  • Motivated to provide the highest quality service to clients.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to plan own time to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel is essential.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and systems is not essential but beneficial.
  • Suggests ways to improve current processes and procedures.
  • Able to work well with peers to achieve common goals and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Aware of client needs and able to act quickly to resolve issues clearly and concisely.
