Job title: Part time Finance Assistant

Location: Fully remote

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £33k full time (£26,400 part time equivalent)

Hours: Part time – 3 to 4 days a week

With a growing membership, this unique organisation offers investment advice to individuals and organisations, including charities.


This exciting part-time Finance Assistant role reports to the Senior Finance Manager and supports the finance team in delivering effective and timely services. The small finance team offers varied duties, providing exposure to all areas of operational accounting.


Responsibilities:
  1. Processing all accounts payable invoices, including accurate data entry
  2. Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  3. Ensuring correct authorisation of invoices and payments
  4. Preparing and processing monthly supplier payment runs
  5. Providing supplier remittance advice when required
  6. Reviewing and reconciling supplier statements
  7. Managing invoices on files via SharePoint
  8. Creating new supplier accounts
  9. Assisting with annual membership renewals
  10. Raising sales ledger invoices as needed
  11. Chasing payments
  12. Recording and reconciling web sales
  13. Processing direct debit collections
  14. Reconciling credit card expenses
  15. Processing staff expenses
  16. Assisting with Year-End Audit
  17. Completing monthly bank statement and control account reconciliations
Skills and experience:
  1. Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, debits, and credits
  2. Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Sage Line 50
  3. Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within the charity sector
  4. Ability to work in a varied role with strict deadlines
