The Role:

• This is an exciting time for the Commercial Finance Team in terms of planning and performance management. Following successful implementation of new financial planning and reporting tools, we are undergoing a transformation of our planning and performance capabilities and processes, with the ambition to significantly enhance the value the Commercial Finance teams offer to the business. This role will report into the Finance Director – Commercial Planning & Performance and play a crucial part in supporting the Commercial Finance Managers of the Business Units. You will be responsible for Cost and Capex analysis, forecasts and budgets, providing valuable data insight and trend analysis to support decision making to enhance business unit performance whilst innovating and streamlining current processes utilising system technology.

• We’re seeking tech-savvy individuals to drive improvements and efficiencies in our monthly and external reporting, enhance performance analytics, and streamline the forecasting and budgeting process by optimising system capabilities. This role will collaborate and partner closely with the Commercial Finance Managers; Finance Directors of the Business Units; the Group Performance Management team and Group System’s expert.

The Location: The role is based in London, Victoria. The role offers hybrid working, with majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager to find the best fit for both you and the role.

The Team:

• You will join the new Commercial Finance, Performance and Planning team, driving system led planning and reporting.

What you will be responsible for:

Cost and Capex Analysis and Reporting

• Monthly cost analysis and insight for our internal business units (Retail and Workplace), investigating and highlighting key variances to the Commercial Finance Managers and informing of future risks and opportunities. Ability to use data led analysis and external benchmarks to identify trends and create opportunities to reduce the cost base.

• Net Service Charge analysis partnering closely with the Service Charge finance team ensuring process efficiencies and alignment in void units, defective and capped leases.

• Work closely with the Group Finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our reported data and complete first reviews of month end financials highlighting any material variances.

• Monthly Operational Capex analysis and reporting for our internal business units (Retail and Workplace). Partnering closely with the Commercial Finance Managers to monitor and track Capex actuals to budget/forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities and supporting value maximisation.

System led Budgeting and Forecasting – Cost and Capex

• Own the monthly rolling forecasts for all costs and operational Capex working closely with the Commercial Finance Managers to understand key assumptions including maintaining R&O schedule

• Expert in the planning tool, OneStream, to efficiently model assumptions utilising statistical modelling and prepare concise and timely reports for the Commercial Finance Managers to agreed SLA’s

• Modelling of Cost and Capex assumptions for the annual budget process, utilising the rolling forecasts

System

• Super user of the OneStream system, efficiently navigating the system, maintaining suite of automated reports and build additional analysis as required by the business.

• Continuously challenge the status quo and use systems expertise to enhance all processes, reporting, analysis and insights.

• Stay at the forefront of system developments and builds, collaborating with the Group FP&A team in regards to system optimisation and roll outs to ensure full potential is realised

Other

• Supplier appraisal support for the Commercial Finance Managers

• Valuation and Asset Return support for the Commercial Finance Managers

• Assist with the production of external disclosures and analysis, and manage audit queries relating to Cost and Capex.

• Provide JV Management reporting in accordance to agreed SLA’s in partnership with the Commercial Finance Managers

• Ability to use other reporting tools such as PowerBi to analysis and integrate data effectively

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential criteria

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).

• Experience of Cost and Capex analysis and reporting supporting decision making.

• Experience of analysing information from a variety of sources to monitor and track performance and to predict trends including PowerBI experience.

• Keen interest in Systems and proven ability to work with financial planning and reporting tools, ideally OneStream.

• Budget and Forecasting experience

• Strong Excel and PowerBi skills with the ability to present information in a way that’s clear and understandable to your audience.
