Job summary

Sulzer Leeds is seeking a Final Inspection Lead to drive quality across pump packages and rotating equipment. You will lead final inspection activities, coordinate verification before dispatch, and ensure records meet ISO 9001 standards.

You will work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management and Quality teams to resolve issues and maintain on-time delivery. This role requires experience in heavy engineering, strong inspection and documentation controls, and the ability to make

Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy engineering or rotating equipment manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing docs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills; ability to make critical quality decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead final inspection activities for complete pump packages and rotating equipment.
  • Coordinate final assembly verification before customer dispatch.
  • Review and approve final manufacturing records and quality documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality requirements; verify customer specifications.
  • Sign off on pump packages and bareshaft assemblies; collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management and Quality teams.

Our Leeds facility is one of Sulzer's flagship pump manufacturing centres, combining decades of engineering expertise with modern manufacturing technology following significant investment and refurbishment. We're looking for an experienced Final Inspection Lead to join our recently refurbished, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Leeds, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring every pump package leaves our site meeting the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction. This is not a typical inspection role. You'll be working alongside teams who design, manufacture, assemble and test some of the largest and most technically advanced pumps in the industry.
